In addition to collecting and processing archival material the Archives also engages in publishing, making documents kept in the Archives available to the broadest professional, scientific and public at large. By publishing archival material, the Archives has become a disseminator of knowledge about the history of the Yugoslav state and society. The Archives' publications, as well as those of other houses publishing records from the Archives, can be found in libraries, at universities and other institutions of learning, and are a must for all wishing to pursue in-depth studies of Yugoslavia and the South Slavic peoples.

Twenty-three volumes of the edition Documents of the Central Organs of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia and the National Liberation War and Revolution 1941-1945, as sources for history of Communist League of Yugoslavia, have also been published.
