The first part of the exhibition was devoted to the background history of establishment, professional development, life and work of the Archives of Yugoslavia themselves, since its establishment until the present days. The second part of the exhibition presented the history of the Yugoslav State in a broad spectrum of political, social, cultural trends and everyday life.

The Monograph authentically presents, on a rather small number of pages, texts, photos and facsimiles of the archival documents, development, activities and results achieved during half a century of the existence of this outstanding state and cultural institution.

With the aim of presenting to the interested public some basic information about the holdings, personal funds and collections which are being kept in the Archives of Yugoslavia, “A Guide Through the Holding Funds of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia” was published, as the first of several similar guides which are to appear over the forthcoming years. The Guide presents 143 funds from the period of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1918-1945) in which there are 4 963 linear meters of the archival materials.

Numbers of documents published in these two books reveal the policy, scope and ways of genocide and crimes committed in Yugoslavia during the Second World War. Readers and researchers can consult a list of members of the occupying forces who were declared war criminals by the Yugoslav State Commission for determing the crimes of occupators and their collaborators. The authors as well compiled a list of members of the occupying units and civil authorities determined to be war criminals by the UN War Commission, and the list of persons suspected to have performed war crimes in the Yugoslav territory.
